Dr. Linda Romero has over 30 years of clinical experience and is honored to have helped many patients throughout that time. After being immersed in chronic disease conditions, she transitioned to preventive medicine by focusing on weight management and the treatment of overweight and obesity, the root cause of many of the chronic diseases she has treated over the years.
Dr. Romero is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She also held a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Utah Health Sciences medical school in 1982. In 1985, she completed her residency in Family Medicine from the University of New Mexico and remained on the faculty at UNM in the Department of Family and Community Medicine until 2015. She retired from UNM as Associate Professor Emeritus. She held a variety of positions throughout the years such as primary care clinician, medical director, and researcher and served on many committees and as a mentor and preceptor. While at UNM, she authored and coauthored numerous publications. Because of her interest in disease prevention, she sought additional training in the medical management of obesity and became a Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Romero is passionate about wellness and prevention. Her focus is helping patients with weight management. She attends medical conferences regularly to stay up to date with the latest information so that she can help patients improve their health and quality and vitality of life.
